Microphone Privacy & App Permissions
Go to Settings → Privacy & security.
Scroll down to App permissions and select Microphone.
Ensure that Microphone access is toggled ON.
Switch the toggle to ON for "Let apps access your microphone".
Scroll down to "Let desktop apps access your microphone" and make sure it is also enabled.
Verify that Ringotel appears in the list of apps that have recently accessed the microphone.
Allow System-Wide Device Usage
Sometimes, even if the headset is plugged in, it may be disabled within the system settings or restricted from being used as a communication device.
Go to Settings → System → Sound.
Under the Output (or Input) section, click on your specific device (the arrow > next to your headset name).
Look at the General section:
If the button says "Allow", it means the device is currently restricted. Click it so it changes to "Don't allow" (which signifies that it is now permitted).
Underneath the "Allow" section, look for "Set as default sound device":
If the device isn't already the default select "Use as default for communication".
This ensures Windows and Ringotel prioritize this headset for calls over your laptop's built-in speakers or microphone.
Check Volume Mixer
Launch Ringotel app.
Open Windows System settings -> Sound -> Volume mixer -> In the “Apps” section, click on the app you want to set the default audio output device for.
Disable Exclusive Mode
Go to Settings → Sound → Advanced → More sound settings.
Select your Headset and click Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab, locate the Exclusive Mode section.
Uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device".
Click OK to save your changes.
Note: For these changes to take effect, please restart the Ringotel Desktop app after clicking Apply.
