How to integrate Ringotel Shell with FreePBX

In this guide, you’ll learn how to integrate Ringotel Shell with the FreePBX installation.

FreePBX is a web-based open-source GUI (graphical user interface) that controls and manages Asterisk (PBX), an open-source communication server.

This guide assumes that you already have an active installation of the FreePBX and you have access to its administration panel and the necessary permissions.

Instructions:

  1. Add a new connection at Ringotel Shell dashboard.

  2. Configure connection settings with your FreePBX branch:

    1. In “IP address or domain of the IP PBX” specify domain or IP-address, where your FreePBX is deployed.

    2. Optional. Specify “SIP Proxy” and “SIP Port” if your installation doesn’t use default settings.

  3. Use Extension ID and Password from FreePBX as SIP username and SIP Password for users in Ringotel Shell. You can also import a .csv file containing sip information for bulk handle:

    1. Go to admin panel of your FreePBX branch.

    2. Go to “Admin” → “Bulk Handler” to export credential information of your sip users to .csv file.

    3. Go to newly created connection with FreePBX branch at Ringotel Shell dashboard.

    4. Click on “Import” to add users to your connection from .csv file.
