Freshdesk

Ringotel integration for Freshdesk CRM offers the following features:

  • Identifies contacts on incoming and outgoing calls.

  • Provides links to open Contact entities from the Ringotel app.

  • Imports contacts from CRM into the Contact lists of Ringotel users.

  • Allows you to create contacts in CRM using the Ringotel mobile or desktop app.

 

API Key

To be able to send request via the integration you will need to provide it with the Freshdesk API key.

To get the API follow these steps:

  1. Log in Freshdesk using the account you intend to use for the integration.

  2. Navigate to the user`s Profile settings in the CRM

4.Copy and Save the API Key

API key is available only for Freshdesk accounts with verified email address, so please make sure the account you intend to use is verified.

Configure Ringotel Integration

Sign into your Ringotel admin portal at https://shell.ringotel.co and navigate to an organization → Integrations tab → click Enable Integration on the Freshdesk card.

 

 

Provide the instance URL for your CRM and the API key as well as check the permissions you wish to give the integration

 

 

With Allow users to create/edit records in Freshdesk and/or Allow users to delete records in Freshdesk options users will be able to create/edit and/or delete contacts in Freshdesk via the Ringotel app.

The instance URL is the baseline URL to your CRM without the slash at the end.

Example: https://ringotel.freshdesk.com

All API calls to Freshdesk API are made using the CRM user associated with the API key provided, so please make sure this CRM user has access to read and modify contact records in the CRM.

 

Click “Save & Continue“. You will then be taken to a page where you can map Ringotel users onto CRM Users

Map your Ringotel users onto Freshdesk users. You can use “Link users“ button to automatically map users with the same email address in both systems.

 

Click Save changes when finished. Now the integration should be configured for the mapped users.

Import CRM contacts

The integration provides automatic contact identification on incoming calls. Additionally, you can import existing CRM contacts into the contact lists of the Ringotel users.

Navigate to your Organization -> Contacts, then click Import button.

Switch to the Freshdesk tab, which should appear if the integration is successfully configured.

 

Click the Next button to pull the list of CRM contacts.

Once the contacts are loaded, select the contacts and click the Import button to start the import. Depending on the number of contacts in your CRM, it may take some time to finish. You may close the window as the process will be finished in the background.
