Fixing problems with push notifications on Xiaomi devices
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot problems with push notifications on Xiaomi Redmi devices:
Check if push notifications are enabled for the app: Open the Settings app on your Redmi device and go to Apps & Notifications. Find Ringotel app and tap on it. Tap on Notifications and make sure that the Show notifications toggle is turned on.
Grant push notification permissions to the app: If the Ringotel app is not listed under Apps & Notifications, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > App permissions > Notifications. Scroll down to find the app and tap on it. Make sure all the toggles under Allowed notifications are turned on.
Check if battery optimization is affecting the app: Go to Settings > Battery & Performance > Battery optimization. Tap on All apps and find Ringotel app. Tap on it and make sure the Optimize battery usage toggle is turned off.
If after the previous steps push notifications still do not properly work, here are some additional steps you can try (location of menu items may differ in some device and software versions):
Open the Security app, navigate to Permissions, and add Ringotel to Autostart.
Summon the Task Manager (by pressing the menu button on your device), find Ringotel, drag it downwards until the padlock icon appears, and tap the padlock icon.
In the app Security, open settings (by tapping the cog icon in the top right corner), select “Data usage”, and activate “Allow background data”.
It might also help to turn off Memory Optimization in MIUI’s “Developer Settings options” (in Settings > Additional Settings). To enable “Developer settings”, navigate to Settings > About Phone, and tap multiple times on “MIUI version”.*
Lastly, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check for app updates: Make sure your Ringotel app is up to date. Open the Google Play Store on your Redmi device and tap on your profile picture in the top right corner. Select Manage apps & device and then tap on Updates available. Install any updates available for the app.
Clear the app's cache and data: Sometimes, cached data can cause problems with push notifications. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications and find the Ringotel app. Tap on it and then tap on Storage & cache. Tap on Clear cache and then tap on Clear data.
Force stop the app: If the app is not working properly, you can try force-stopping it. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications and find the Ringotel app. Tap on it and then tap on Force stop.
Reinstall the app: If none of the above steps work, you can try reinstalling the app. Uninstall the app from your Redmi device and then reinstall it from the Google Play Store.
