AI Assistant (beta)

Ringotel AI Assistant automatically transcribes calls and generates conversation summary and subject that is synced with the call activity in the users’ apps. With the CRM integration, these details are automatically synced with the connected CRM system. This feature also extends to the calls made via desk phones connected through Ringotel (via Terminal password).

Enabling AI Assistant

You can enable AI Assistant per connection, which allows you to enable the functionality only for specific users in the organization.

  1. Navigate to an organization → connection Features.

  2. Scroll down and check the “Enable AI Assistant” box.

  3. In addition, you can configure the following settings:

Language - by default, the model will try to automatically determine language based on the first transcription chunks. However, if you know that in 100% of the conversations the spoken language would be, for example, English, you specify the default language to significantly improve call transcription quality.

Summarization prompt - Consider this as an instruction to the model of what you would like to get in result as a call summary. Here the sky is the limit. You can be as concise as telling the model to summarize the conversation or be more precise providing the model with the specific instruction, personality, or the output format. Below you can find some prompt examples to try.

Transcription prompt - This prompt helps the model better understand speech and maintain a consistent writing style. You can find more on transcription prompts in the Whisper prompting guide.

Now as the AI Assistant is enabled, all internal and external calls for users in this connection will utilize AI Assistant. Let’s check how it works by calling another extension. 

Activity subjects list

Next, we can specify the list of call subjects that will be passed to the model to choose the best suitable based on the conversation topic. If none is provided or matched, the model will generate a new subject instead.

How does it work

The calls are transcribed automatically once the feature is enabled in the connection settings. Once you hang up a call, the call activity is updated automatically and synced with the connected CRM system or sent via the Webhook integration (if enabled). It may take a few seconds to update the call activity.

FAQ

  • Does Ringotel share my data with third-party LLM/infrastructure providers?

Currently, we are using Google Cloud services for call transcriptions and summarisations. You data is not used to fine-tune or improve Google’s models or service. Each data request is sent over an SSL-encrypted service, to process and send back to Ringotel.

  • On which package is AI Assistant available?

Currently, AI Assistant feature is available on both Essentials and Pro packages. To enable the functionality for your account, please reach out to support@ringotel.co.
